Türkiye has expressed its readiness to facilitate a new series of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as confirmed by Yuri Ushakov, a foreign policy aide to the Kremlin. During a speech in Kazan, Ushakov revealed that Turkish officials have communicated their willingness to serve as hosts for discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This development follows conversations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Ushakov pointed out that recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian soil have not been conducive to arranging a direct meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Despite these setbacks, Türkiye has continued to maintain a balanced diplomatic stance, keeping open communication lines with both Moscow and Kyiv. Previously, Türkiye facilitated negotiations in Istanbul, which, although they did not result in a final agreement, marked a significant diplomatic effort to foster dialogue between the two nations.
